I was born at a young age in Cleveland, Ohio. Most people can only dream of being from Cleveland, but I really am! I attended the College of Wooster and received a B.A. in both History and Spanish. I attended Vanderbilt University and have an M.A. in Latin American Studies. I worked in long term care for 8 years, prior to working in the health insurance industry for nearly the past 30 years.
Do you have any nicknames?“Smokin”, but that was sports related

The one who says it cannot be done should never interrupt the one doing it!

I have lived in NC since I was a few years old…I didn’t even go away to college opting instead to attend High Point University. I branched out of my little bubble there and the experience taught me many invaluable lessons that I still see infused in my everyday life. I am fortunate to be able to now impart some of this wisdom and learned traits, like accountability, humility and equanimity to my own family throughout our everyday life.

Ironman and Batman because they are self made super heroes (not bit by a spider or born with super powers)

I have been extremely blessed to have lived, worked, and traveled with my family in and outside the USA. I was a seamstress, salesperson and wholesale fabric shipper for a Bridal Store who made custom wedding apparel and sold ready-to-wear products at age 16.

A Nuban farm goat named “Raindrops”.

If you could give one piece of advice to yourself 15 years ago, what would it be?
Enjoy the moment your in to the fullest! I lived in Basel, Switzerland at the time and was more worried about following the rules and fitting in than enjoying the beauty all around me.

Galápagos Islands or African safari, to see all of the amazing wildlife untouched.

I have lived in North Carolina my entire life and have never ventured away from here. I am blessed to have a close family and enjoy every minute I get to spend with them. I am currently working toward my Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration at South University and will graduate in March 2024. I have worked in Healthcare for over 15 years and I look forward to taking the step and learning the health insurance side of the industry. Working with people has always been my passion and I know I will only continue loving to do so.

I am pretty content at home and have traveled a fair amount but I would LOVE to take a trip across the US with no time restraints taking in all we have to offer.
