The Blue Moon Benefits Group, Inc. is located inside the historical Broyhill Office Suites within the Village of Clemmons, North Carolina. Blue Moon is a full service health insurance agency offering a variety of health insurance related benefits for businesses and individuals. We are a true independent insurance agency, which means that we offer coverage from all of the top insurance carriers throughout North Carolina and provide recommendations based on the specific needs or situation of our clients.

Michael York, President

Mike is the president and founder of Blue Moon Benefits Group, Inc. and currently serves in the role of Sales Manager for the company. He has been in the insurance business for over 20 years and also holds the professional designation of a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU). Mike lives in Clemmons with his wife, Suzanne, and four children.

Stephen Flynn, Vice President

Steve is a graduate of Wake Forest University and The Babcock School of Management. He holds professional designations and certifications as a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist and Registered Health Underwriter and has more than thirty-five years of experience in the insurance industry. A resident of Clemmons, he is married and has a daughter and two grandchildren.

Ruth Wharton, Customer Service Manager

Ruth has been with Blue Moon since September 2004. As well as serving as Office Manager, Ruth is instrumental in helping with any general customer service issues. Her past work experience includes 6 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Medical Director of Healthcare Management at QualChoice of North Carolina. She also worked for 6 years as the Management Consulting Services secretary at North Carolina Baptist Hospitals. Ruth resides in Bermuda Run and is a proud mother of three boys and six grandchildren.

Gail Flynn, Medicare Service Manager

Gail joined Blue Moon in May 2009 to assist with our growing Medicare health plans division. Gail is instrumental in following all of our Medicare products through the underwriting and enrollment process as well as serving as the main point of contact for service issues related to our Medicare health plans. Gail also lives in Clemmons and she is married to Steve Flynn (Blue Moon’s Sales & Service Executive).

Justin Osborn, Account Executive

Earning his Master’s Degree at Doane College and undergraduate at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Justin has degrees in Finance, Economics, and Education. After briefly working in the insurance field after college, Justin chose to educate our future generation and became a high school teacher for four years. Now excited to be back in the insurance arena, Justin has numerous licenses, including Life, Health, Long-term Care and Medicare. Justin and his wife, Jill, reside in Clemmons, where they are raising their family.

Pat Schipke, Administrative Assistant

Pat joined Blue Moon in September 2012 to assist with daily administrative tasks. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Pat worked in the nursing field for over 30 years which includes working for Wake Forest University Health Sciences for 21 years, 16 of which were in Health On-Call, the medical center’s patient referral service. She and her husband, Mark, have three children and live in Clemmons.
